I have a central heat pump and two mini-splits in my home. How can I effectively use Cielo Linked to maximize the use of mini-split and minimize the use of ducted/central heat pump?

Consider you have a Cielo Smart Thermostat connected to your central heat pump, one Cielo Breez Max connected to a mini-split in your lounge, and another to a mini-split in the kids room. You can create a link based on the optimal indoor temperature to maximize the use of mini-split heat pumps and minimize the use of the central HVAC system.

(You can use this case as an example to create links based on your situation and heating/cooling equipments.)

Here’s how you can do that via Cielo Linked:

Step 1: Open the Cielo Home app. Tap on ‘Menu’ on the home screen and then tap ‘Explore’.
Step 2: Tap the ‘+’ icon and ‘Select a trigger’.

Step 3: Select Cielo Thermostat as the triggering device and tap ‘Next’.
Step 4: Select ‘Indoor temperature’ and set it to ‘goes above 60F’. Tap ‘Next’.
Step 5: Tap on ‘Select an action’.

Step 6: Select Breez Max Lounge and tap ‘Next’.
Step 7: Tap ‘Change settings’ and set the ‘AC State’ to ‘Power On’. Tap ‘Next’.

Step 8: Tap the ‘+’ icon and select Breez Max Kids Room and tap ‘Next’.

Step 9: Tap ‘Change settings’ and set the ‘AC State’ to ‘Power On’.  Tap ‘Next’.

Step 10: Tap on ‘Create Link’.

Now, create another link that turns the heat pump OFF to avoid unnecessary energy usage.

Step 1: Tap the ‘+’ icon and ‘Select a trigger’.
Step 2: Select Breez Max Lounge as the triggering device and tap ‘Next’.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Power state’ and select ‘Powered On’. Tap ‘Next’. 
Step 4: Tap on ‘Select an action’.
Step 5: Select Cielo Thermostat and tap ‘Next’.

Step 6: Select ‘Preset’. Then, choose ‘Away’ from the list of presets. Tap ‘Next’ and ‘Create Link’.
