Getting Started
For best results, connect Cielo Breez Eco with the provided USB cable and adapter. Mount your Breez Eco on a wall or place it on a table in the AC's line of sight and plug it into a power source.
For optimal placement and control:
- Make sure Breez Eco is in the line of sight of your air conditioner or heat pump.
- To avoid deviated sensor readings, do not place Breez Eco where it may be exposed to excessive sunlight or other heat sources.
Note: It is strongly advised that whenever there is a need to use the remote control for AC/heat pump, point it towards Breez Eco while performing any action. This way, your AC/heat pump, and Cielo Home app will always be in sync.
Prior to App Installation
For your phone:
- Make sure your smartphone’s Bluetooth is turned ON.
- Make sure your smartphone’s Wi-Fi is turned ON.
- Make sure your smartphone has internet access.
For your Wi-Fi router:
- Make sure you have a working internet connection on your Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure there is no proxy server or authentication server configured on your internet connection.
- Make sure there is no captive portal on your Wi-Fi router.
Note: Make sure IP isolation or client isolation is turned OFF on your Wi-Fi router.
App Installation & Registration
Install the ‘Cielo Home’ app from the App Store.
Log in to the app if you already have an account; otherwise, create one using the sign-up option.
Device Registration
Device registration process connects Breez Eco to your home Wi-Fi network through the Cielo Home app.
Note:
- For iOS 13.0 & above, location permission is required to complete the registration process. You may disable it later. For iOS 14.0 and above, Local Network Access permission is a requirement to successfully register the device.
- For Android OS 8.1 and above, location permission is required to complete the registration process. You may disable it later. For Android 14 and above, Local Network Access permission is a requirement to successfully register the device.
Step 1: Open the Cielo Home app, tap ‘Add Device' on the home screen, and select Breez Eco from the list of devices.
Step 2: Tap on ‘ Continue’.
Step 3: Allow required permissions. You may disable them later. Tap on ‘ Continue’.
Step 4: Tap ‘Connect’.
Step 5: Customize your device with a name of your choice (for example, Bedroom, Lounge, Office, etc.). Then tap on 'Continue'.
Step 6: Tap on ‘Scan Wi-Fi Networks’ to connect your device to Wi-Fi.
Step 7: Your device has been successfully registered. Tap on ‘Done’.
Step 8: Tap 'Configure'.
Step 9: Get a hold of your AC’s remote and tap ‘Next’.
Step 10: Point your AC's remote at the Cielo Device and press the remote’s 'Power Button' once. It will start the processing & configuration process.
Step 11: Your remote is now paired with Breez Eco. Tap on ‘Done’.
Step 12: To verify if your remote is configured correctly, tap on 'Test your remote.'
Step 13: Tap 'Continue.'
Step 14: Tap on the On/Off icon as shown.
Step 15: If your AC responds correctly, tap 'Yes, it's working fine.' If it doesn't, select 'Let's try again.'
Registration process is complete. Enjoy your smart air conditioning!
Quick Tip: LED indicator in the power button breez eco should blink once after receiving the remote control's signal. If it does not blink, please check the batteries of the remote control.
Device Status
Your home screen shows the real-time status of all your Cielo Devices.
Your device is offline when quick control options are greyed out and it says 'Offline' under the device name.
If your device if offline, try the following options:
- Ensure your phone/device is connected to a working internet connection.
- Refresh the home screen by swiping downwards (Pull-to-refresh).
Enjoy the Unlimited Functionalities
Cielo Breez Eco works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcuts, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT.
Troubleshooting
Breez Eco has an LED indicator on its front for status indication.
Case 1: If your device is powered up and connected to a working internet connection, the light stays off, meaning the device is working perfectly.
Case 2: If there is a single blink every 2 seconds, it indicates the device is in broadcast (AP) mode. If you have not registered the device yet, please follow the ‘Device Registration’ steps.
Case 3: If the light blinks twice every 2 seconds, it indicates the device is connected to the router but has no internet access.
Configuring the Right Remote Control for Your AC
Cielo Breez Eco auto detects the relevant remote control for your AC during the registration process. If it is not working with your AC, please select your remote model manually.
For manual selection, follow these steps:
A. Go to settings by tapping the ‘Settings’ icon on the control screen
B. Select 'Change Appliance'.
C. Select 'Manual Configuration'.
D. Select the 'Manufacturer' & 'Remote Model' of your AC from the drop-down list and tap 'Confirm'.
Quick Tip: Remote control model number is usually found on the back side of the remote control.
Setting up schedules for your heating and cooling
Custom Schedule
You can schedule your unit connected to Breez Eco by performing the following steps on your Cielo Home app:
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘Schedule’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on '+ Add a Schedule'.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Custom Schedule’.
Step 5: Select the time/days you want to set the schedule for and then tap on ‘Custom Settings’.
Step 6: Select the power state, mode, temperature, fan speed, and swing position of your choice and tap on ‘Done’.
Step 7: Choose a suitable name for your schedule. Tap on ‘Save’ to set up the schedule.
Once the schedule is set, it will appear on the schedule tab. You can turn it On/Off by toggling the slider against the schedule.
Comfy Schedule
Note: To schedule Comfy mode, you need to save at least one template setting in the app. After you have done that, follow the steps below.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘Schedule’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on ‘+ Add Schedule’.
Step 4: Select ‘Comfy Schedule’.
Step 5: Select the time and day(s) and choose whether you want to set it as a repeat schedule. Then, select your desired Comfy template.
Once the Comfy schedule is set, it will appear on the schedules tab. You can enable/disable it by toggling the slider against the schedule.
Deleting/Editing a schedule
Step 1:On the control screen, tap on ‘Schedule’ in the navigation bar.
Step 2: In the 'Schedule' tab, you will see all your set schedules.
Step 3: Swipe left on the schedule you want to edit or delete until both options for Edit/Delete appear. Choose your desired option and proceed. You can also swipe to the left edge of the screen to delete the schedule.
Setting up Comfy Temperature Mode
Comfy mode helps prevent temperature extremes by maintaining your desired settings based on your defined setpoints.
When the room temperature deviates above or below your set range, Comfy mode automatically applies your chosen AC settings, including mode, temperature, and fan speed, to maintain your preferred climate.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘eSaver’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on 'Comfy'.
Step 4: Tap on 'Add Template' under the Comfy Temperature heading.
Step 5: Choose your preferred temperature range. Then, tap on custom settings to select the actions to perform if the temperature falls below or exceeds the set range, such as turning the AC off or on, changing its mode, Setpoint, fan speed, and swing position to help it return to the preferred temperature range. Add a name for this template and tap on ‘Done’.
Step 6: Your Comfy settings are now saved. It is disabled by default. You can turn Comfy 'On' from the toggle next to the name of the Comfy template. Once the device triggers the defined comfy temperature mode actions, you will get a notification in your app timeline.
Note: You can set up multiple Comfy settings through Comfy templates. Each of the templates can be turned 'On' or 'Off' from the toggle next to its name. You can have a different Comfy Mode for the morning, a different mode for the afternoon, and so on.
Step 7: You can also turn Comfy Mode On/Off from the app control screen. Tap on the 'Up' arrow icon at the bottom of the control screen.
Step 8: In the pop-up navigation bar, tap on 'Comfy' to toggle it On or Off. The greyed-out icon shows that it is currently Off.
Step 9: Select the desired Comfy Mode from the list of available Comfy settings. In this case, 'Morning'.
Step 10: Comfy Mode is now active, and the Comfy icon will turn white. It is now turned 'On'.
Setting up Comfy Humidity Mode
Comfy Humidity Mode automatically adjusts the AC settings to maintain ideal indoor air quality when the room’s humidity falls outside your set range. This helps prevent discomfort from excessive dryness or dampness & maintain consistent indoor comfort without the need for constant manual adjustments.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘eSaver’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on 'Comfy'.
Step 4: Tap on ‘+ Add Template' to set up a Comfy Humidity template.
Step 5: Select what actions to perform if the humidity falls below or goes above the set range, e.g., turning the AC off or on, changing its mode, setpoint, and fan speed, helping it get back into the preferred humidity range. Add a name for this template and tap on ‘Done’.
Step 6: Comfy Humidity is now set. You can turn Comfy Mode 'On' or 'Off' from the toggle next to the name of the Comfy Mode. Once the device triggers the defined comfy humidity mode actions, you will get a notification in your app timeline.
You can also turn Comfy Mode On/Off from the app control screen.
Step 7: Tap on the 'Up' arrow icon at the bottom of the control screen.
Step 8: On the pop-up navigation bar, tap on 'Comfy' to toggle it On or Off. Currently, it is turned 'Off', shown by the greyed-out icon.
Step 9: To turn it 'On', tap on the Comfy icon, and it will turn white. It is now turned 'On'.
Geofencing (Location-Based Controls)
The geofencing feature automatically triggers your defined settings (on/off or changing temperature and fan speed) as you leave or enter your predefined area. This feature helps optimize comfort while also saving energy by automating your AC usage.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘eSaver’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Geofencing’.
Note: Location permissions must be enabled at all times for the Cielo Home app on your smartphone.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Create Geofence’.
Step 5: Your current location will be displayed on the map. You can also use the search bar to manually find and select a different location.
Tap ‘Done’ to proceed.
Step 6: Choose the AC settings (mode, Setpoint, fan speed, etc.) to be implemented when you enter the predefined location.
Step 7: Select the AC settings to be applied when you exit the geofence area.
Step 8: Tap ‘Apply’ to save your settings.
Checking Air Filter Status
A clogged or dirty air filter can reduce the efficiency of your AC unit, increase power consumption, and negatively impact indoor air quality. With Cielo Breez Eco, you can easily track the usage of your AC filter and get notified when it’s time to clean it.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘eSaver’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Air Filter’.
Step 4: You will see your current air filter status since registration (or since the last cleaning). When the range is about to fill up, manually remove the air filter and clean it. Once done, place the filter back into the mini-split. Tap on ‘Mark as Cleaned’. Additionally, you can set the number of hours after which you want to be notified for the next cleaning.
Step 5: Your filter status has now begun a new cycle.
Note: You can set the number of usage hours (from 250 to 500 hours) after which you'd like to be notified for the next filter cleaning via the Cielo Home App.
Adding Siri Shortcuts to Cielo Home (For iOS users)
Cielo Breez Eco is compatible with Siri Shortcuts, allowing you to control your unit using simple voice commands. With Siri Shortcuts, you can activate your favorite presets hands-free, perfect for quick comfort adjustments.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap on the Breez Eco you want to add Siri Shortcuts for.
Step 2: Tap on ‘eSaver’ in the navigation bar.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Add Siri Shortcuts’.
Step 4: Tap on 'Create Shortcut' to make a new Siri Shortcut.
Step 5: Enter the desired AC settings when the command is sent through Siri Shortcuts. You can set the AC operating mode, temperature set point, fan speed, and swing position. Tap on ‘Done’.
Step 6: Next, enter the phrase you want the Shortcut to be activated on. For example, here it is , 'Cool The Room'. Tap on 'Done'.
Step 7: All your currently active Siri Shortcuts will now be displayed. In this example, when you say to Siri 'Cool The Room', the AC will turn on at 73 degrees in cool mode at high fan speed.
Checking Usage History
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: On the Control screen, tap on 'History'.
Step 3: Your 30-day usage summary should appear on the screen. Tap on any day to learn more details about your detailed usage history.
Checking Timeline of Actions
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: On the Control screen, tap on 'Timeline'.
Step 3: You'll see a complete list of actions performed over the last 90 days.
Changing Device Name (e.g. bedroom, lounge etc.)
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on the pencil icon in front of the device name.
Step 4: Select the name from a list of common names, or type a custom name.
Step 5: Tap on 'Update.' The device name has now changed.
Adjusting the Brightness of the Device
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap on the Breez Eco device you want to change the LED brightness of.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on 'Display Brightness'.
Step 4: Toggle the 'Brightness' slider to change the brightness of the Breez Eco device power button.
Calibrate Room Temperature
The Cielo Breez Eco features a built-in temperature sensor that monitors your room climate. If the displayed temperature doesn’t quite match the actual room conditions, you can calibrate the temperature sensor using the Cielo Home app. Calibration adjusts the reading so your device reflects the true ambient temperature of your room.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap the 'Settings' on the top right.
Step 3: Scroll down and tap on 'Calibration'.
Step 4: Calibrate the indoor temperature as required.
Note:
- In Fahrenheit, you can calibrate temperature by up to ±8°F in either direction at a time. To calibrate further, first save your initial calibration, then you can adjust an additional ±7°F.
- In Celsius, you can calibrate temperature by up to ±5°C in either direction at a time. To calibrate further, first save your initial calibration, then you can adjust an additional ±4°C
Step 5: Tap on 'Apply'. The Temperature sensor in Breez Eco has been successfully calibrated.
Calibrate Room Humidity
Calibration allows you to adjust the readings so that they closely match the actual room humidity.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Calibration ‘.
Step 4: Tap on 'Humidity'. Calibrate the indoor humidity as required
Step 5: Tap on 'Apply'. The humidity sensor in Breez Eco has now been calibrated.
Note: You can calibrate humidity by up to ±10% in either direction.
Changing Device Wi-Fi
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Device Wi-Fi’.
Step 4: Allow the required permissions. Tap ‘Continue’.
Step 5: It will start searching for your device. Once the device is connected, tap, ‘Next.’
Step 6: Tap on ‘Scan Wi-Fi’.
Step 7: Select your intended Wi-Fi network. Enter the password. Tap on 'Connect'.
Step 8: The device Wi-Fi is now changed.
Enable or disable the touch function on the device
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on 'Touch'.
Step 4: You can now enable or disable the device power touch control.
Group Settings
A group will allow you to control all your registered devices together with a simple tap.
Creating a Group
To create a Group in the Cielo Home app, follow these steps:
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Move to Group.
Step 4: Tap on Create a new group.
Step 5: Give your group a name (e.g. Ground floor, first floor, basement, etc.). Choose an icon.
Step 6: Tap on ‘Done’. Group is created successfully.
Adding a Device to a Group
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Move to Group.
Step 4: On the Group screen, you will see a list of all of your active groups. Tap on the group you wish to move the device to.
Step 5: You will see a check mark next to the group name. Tap on ‘Done’.
On the Home screen, you will see a separate ‘Groups’ tab. You can tap on the group to see all your devices in that group.
Removing a Device from a Group
Step 1: On the Home Screen, go to the ‘Groups’ section and select your created group.
Step 2: Tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 3: Go to the ‘Settings’ on the top right.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Remove from Group.’
Step 5: Tap on ‘Yes’. Device will be removed from the group.
Editing a Group
Step 1: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon of the group you wish to edit.
Step 2: In group settings, tap on ‘Edit Group. You can change the icon and name of the group as you desire.
Step 3: Tap on 'Done'.
Deleting a Group
Note: To delete a group, you have to remove all the devices added to it individually. You may not be allowed to delete a group otherwise. To delete a device from a group, refer to Section 3.
Step 1: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon of the group you wish to edit.
Step 2: In group settings, tap on ‘Delete Group’.
Switch temperature units between Centigrade and Fahrenheit
Here's how you can switch temperature units between Centigrade and Fahrenheit:
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on 'Temperature Unit'.
Step 4: Tap on the C to F toggle against 'Temperature Unit'.
Note: If the option to change temperature unit isn't available, please contact Cielo Tech Support for assistance.
Step 5: Your device's temperature units will be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Sync AC State (e.g. AC is ON and App is showing it as OFF)
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap the ‘Settings'⚙️ in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Tap on ‘Sync AC State’.
Step 4: From the menu, select the AC settings you want to update. These may include:
- Power state (On/Off)
- Mode (Cool, Heat, Fan, Dry, Auto)
- Temperature set point
Step 5: Tap ‘Done’. The app will now update to display the selected AC parameters correctly.
Change Appliance (Manufacturer/Model Number)
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on 'Change Appliance'.
Step 4: Tap on 'Manual Configuration'.
Step 5: Select the 'Manufacturer' & 'Remote Model' of your AC from the drop-down list and tap 'Confirm'.
Removing your Device
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap 'More' to access additional settings.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 3: Tap on 'Remove Device’.
Step 4: Tap on ‘Remove’. Your device is now removed.
Checking Details of Your Breez Eco
Step 1: Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right.
Step 2: Tap on ‘About Device’.
Step 3: You can see all the device details here.
