If your HVAC system includes two R-wires, it typically means your heating and cooling systems are powered separately - one wire powers the heating (RH), and the other powers the cooling (RC).
In this case, connect the wires as follows:
- Insert the RH wire into the RH terminal on the Cielo Smart Thermostat Eco. This wire usually comes from the heating system’s transformer.
- Insert the RC or R wire into the RC terminal. This wire is generally connected to the cooling system’s transformer.
RH -> RH
R or RC -> RC
Make sure both wires are securely inserted, and the terminals are firmly tightened. The thermostat will detect power from both systems independently, allowing it to control heating and cooling efficiently.
Refer to the diagram below for visual guidance on wire placement.
What If You Only Have One R Wire (R, RC, or Rh)?
Alternatively, if your system only has only R-wire (R, Rc, or Rh), insert your single R, Rc, or Rh wire into the Rc terminal as shown.
If you're unsure about your wire configuration or labeling, feel free to reach out to Cielo tech support.
